Amorim speaks out on Rashford-Garnacho.

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has spoken out about the omission of Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho from the bench in their 2-1 win at Manchester City.

“Nothing special, one game and then another week, another week, another life. If they train well, they will compete for a place in the team. They play because they have the ability. We need Rashford and Garnacho.”

“Next week, if they train as well as the others, it’s the same for everyone. They’ll either play or they’ll be on the bench. It’s not about discipline. We have to improve our standards on and off the pitch. It’s a normal week.”

Asked if he was already thinking about the next game, Amorim replied: “The problem is more with Mason Mount. You think straight away. We have a lot of games to play, we have to keep winning. This will change if we don’t keep winning.”

“He (Mount) fits our style. He’s a very good player on Promotion ufabet and off the pitch. He has the personality we want in this team and this club. He moves and he can stretch his legs, he feels something, but we need him.”

Keane: Rashford omission not a surprise

Sky Sports’ Roy Keane said of Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford’s omissions: “It is a big call.

“He has obviously seen something he doesn’t like. But for those who have watched Manchester United recently, it’s not a big surprise because both players have been poor. He has said ‘Enough is enough’.

“It’s a big call, but I like to see it – he has put down a marker. A move for Marcus [Rashford] would suit the player – a new challenge for him. He’s been there a long time. When you’re at a big club and your attitude is not right – and it hasn’t been great recently – sometimes it’s good to part ways.”
