(Yes, I am pivoting. Wednesday happens to be my shop’s 4th Etsy-versary and so I need to shift some focus in that direction for a few days for a little bit of celebrating and launching something new. I realized it wasn’t good planning on my part to choose this week for covering SEO, since it requires much more time and thought when composing posts. Plus I want to put the webinar in the middle of it rather than at the end, and this will allow for that. Thank you for your grace!)
I’d like to be able to change tags often for holidays. Like stocking stuffer, teacher gift, party favor, etc. as the seasons change. Is this effective, and if so, how do I do this easily?
Yes, this can be very effective. You should always have a few “extra” tags not appearing in your title that you can experiment with, and doing so by responding to seasonal shifts and trends can be a great strategy. The three examples given are all searched terms on Etsy and could very likely provide an edge at certain times of the year.
Fortunately, it’s easy to quick edit Etsy tags without going into individual listings.
When you open your Listings Manager, click the Quick Edit button at the top.
Find the listing and click Edit next to Tags.
This will allow any tag to be deleted via the X. Once you free up a spot, you can type a new one and Add. Be sure to click Update tags when you’re finished so that your changes are saved.
You can even quick edit inactive listings, which is nice in case there are a few listings you are preparing but aren’t quite ready to activate.
See you tomorrow for Day 14 of 31 Days of Etsy Seller Q & A.
